Our machine shop is dedicated to stainless steel. Only specific bits, dies, blades, stones, benders and polishers are adequate for working stainless steel.

The various equipment we use to accomplish tasks such as compound curves include - nylon mallet on stump, nylon mallet on sand bag, English wheel, pneumatic planishing hammer and edge shrinkers and stretchers.

For fastening we primarily use a MiG welder with stainless steel wire and helium gas. For some applications connections can be accomplished with 100% stainless steel pop-rivets.(not all stainless rivets are 100% stainless and your common rivets are only aluminum or sometimes mild steel)

Whenever possible I enjoy using a popular woodworking technique I will call ‘drill and dowel’ (if you work with wood please send me a comment enlightening me of the correct term). However the ‘dowels’ I use are stainless steel pins in holes of the same size. The ends can be peened(rivetted) and machined to an invisible connection.

The bearings we source for an everlasting ornament were designed to support several thousand kilogram machines rotating at thousands of revolutions per minute(RPM), in harsh environments. Hence the stainless steel. I expect these bearings will last for an eternity, idling without load.

We will supply anchoring if necessary. Our current anchors range from free-standing, pedestal/pole, ground stake, horizontal concrete(slab), vertical concrete(pile) and wall/roof bracket. We can custom design any bracket to suit your needs.
